I talked with everyone about what they wanted to bring, and then I decided to make a really special entree for everyone. I made my grandmother's roasted chicken and potatoes, and they all loved the approach to a family meal. I know how much food can bring people together, so I've made this blog all about holiday food and cooking. Read on to discover great tips about making the holidays fun with the right meals.

Ways To Serve Kaiser Rolls At A Special Event

Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, kaiser rolls are best known for holding hamburgers and various sandwich ingredients. Although they are delicious when eaten this way, there are many other ways to enjoy them. Since they are handheld and easy to eat while on the go, Kaiser rolls make ideal meal starters for special events.

Kaiser rolls, also known as Vienna rolls, are typically made from white flour, water, salt, malt, and yeast. Due to cuts that are made on top of the dough prior to cooking, the round rolls usually have a decorative, crown-like appearance, making them attractive event menu items. They can also be filled with lighter lunch or dinner fare, including egg and tuna salads.

You can serve Kaiser rolls at a wide range of special events, including wedding and baby showers, birthday and holiday parties, anniversary and graduation celebrations, and even backyard picnics. The rolls are easy to customize, allowing party-goers to tailor their meals to their their specific tastes and dietary restrictions.

Here are Kaiser roll party menu ideas.

Sandwiches

1. Caprese Sandwiches

Filled with all of the same tasty ingredients as an Italian caprese salad, the sandwiches will be easier for guests to eat as they mix and mingle. Fill the rolls with sliced tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil, and then top them off with drizzles of olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Although caprese rolls are ideal for both the vegetarians and meat-eaters in the group, you can also provide thinly sliced prosciutto, salami, and other Italian deli meats for those who prefer a heartier sandwich.

2. Breakfast Sandwiches

If you're holding a morning or early afternoon celebration or meeting, consider serving Kaiser rolls filled with a  variety of breakfast favorites, such as eggs, bacon, sausage patties, and cheese. To keep the sandwiches interesting, provide a selection of interesting and gourmet cheeses, such as pepper jack, brie, and aged cheddar.

Serve the rolls with other breakfast-inspired items such as hashbrowns, fruit salad, or grits.

Creative Options

1. Mini Pizzas

If you're holding a child's birthday party, consider treating the young guests to mini pizzas made with easy-to-eat Kaiser rolls. Simply cut the rolls in half and top each side with tomato sauce, shredded mozzarella cheese and any other item you'd like, including mini pepperoni, mushrooms or black olives.

Kids can have fun making their own pizza creations, which will also double as a hands-on party activity.

2. Individual Pot Pies

Easy to make ahead and heat up the day of the event, pot pies are sure to be crowd pleasers. Make a selection of vegetarian, chicken and beef pot pies, and top them with kaiser rolls prior to baking to create crunchy crusts. Brush the roll with butter prior to putting them in the oven so they become golden brown.
